Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information: student data.

Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. • Log and Usage Data. Service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect, including your IP address, device information, browser type, activity in the Services, and device event information.
• Device Data. Information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device, including IP address, device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, Internet service provider, operating system, and system configuration information.
• Location Data. Information about your device's location based on IP address. You can opt out by disabling your Location setting on your device.
• Behavioral Engagement Data. When a user views another user's personal BriefCase, we collect time spent per page section, scroll depth and content engagement, link and button click events, file download events, return visit tracking, and an engagement score based on the visitor's behavior.
• Third-Party Visitor Data. We collect derivative data on people who never signed up for BriefCase (recruiting managers, hiring managers, C-Suite executives, and anyone a link is sent to), specifically their device, browser, location, and behavioral engagement data collected without them having an account.

Google API

Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.

• To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts.
• To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user.
• To respond to user inquiries/offer support to users.
• To send administrative information to you — details about our products and services, changes to our terms and policies, and other similar information.
• To request feedback and contact you about your use of our Services.
• To send you marketing and promotional communications, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. You can opt out of our marketing emails at any time.

We provide AI Products through third-party service providers ("AI Service Providers"), including Google Gemini. Your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers to enable your use of our AI Products. You must not use the AI Products in any way that violates the terms or policies of any AI Service Provider.

Our AI Products are designed for:

7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible, then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

Global Privacy Control: We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. 13. THIRD-PARTY VISITOR TRACKING

When a registered user shares their BriefCase link with a third party (such as a recruiter, hiring manager, or other), BriefCase automatically collects behavioral analytics data about that third-party visitor, including but not limited to: time spent on the page, sections viewed, links clicked, files downloaded, device and browser information, and approximate geographic location derived from IP address. This data is collected without the third-party visitor having a BriefCase account and is made available exclusively to the registered user who shared the link. By visiting a BriefCase link, third-party visitors acknowledge and consent to this data collection as disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

14. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?

In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice.
